Mine Safe Global has announced the release of its Intelligent Behaviour Monitoring Platform, a driver-monitoring and HD recording system built to detect fatigue, distraction, and unsafe driving behaviour in real time across mining operations. Combining the EDGDMS31 Driver Camera and the EDG297R Recording Monitor, the platform is engineered to improve road safety, reduce operational risk, and deliver reliable video evidence and fleet visibility in both surface and underground environments.

Fatigue and distraction remain among the leading contributors to vehicle incidents on mine sites, where operators frequently work long shifts in demanding conditions. The Intelligent Behaviour Monitoring Platform addresses this challenge directly by using real-time facial analysis to identify fatigue, distraction, phone use, smoking, yawning, and seatbelt violations, alerting operators the moment unsafe behaviour is detected.

At the core of the system, the EDGDMS31 Driver Camera delivers real-time driver monitoring with 940nm infrared night vision for accurate detection in low-light and nighttime conditions. The camera supports face recognition, authorised driver verification, and storage for up to 400 driver profiles, along with 1080P HD recording and alarm-triggered event capture. A secondary side-seat input enables dual detection for increased safety and operator awareness.

The companion EDG297R Recording Monitor features a 10.1-inch IPS touchscreen, four-channel video input, HD DVR recording, and dual SD and SSD storage in an IP66 waterproof housing. Built-in GPS, WiFi, and 4G connectivity support remote live monitoring, real-time alerts, and location tracking, while DVR remote viewing allows fleet managers to review footage without an in-cab monitor.

An optional Seat Vibration Module adds a further layer of protection, alerting operators through in-seat vibration and in-cab audio and visual warnings during fatigue events.

The platform actively detects and alerts across a wide range of driver behaviours, including fatigue, phone usage, smoking, yawning, seatbelt monitoring, overspeed events, driver recognition, no-driver detection, and lens-covered alerts. Each event generates audio and visual warnings, live reporting with event logs, and secure video evidence stored on the device.

Designed for modern fleet management, the system integrates via CAN Bus and RS232 for vehicle data and alarm output, with cloud connectivity through a centralised CMS platform. WiFi and 4G enable remote configuration, live video streaming, and real-time alerts, giving operations teams complete visibility across their fleet.

The platform also includes anti-tamper protection, featuring a tamper-proof design with secure seals, configuration locked to authorised users, on-device tamper alerts, and continuous, secured event recording.
