Portable proportioners
The DZ1000 allows operators to change foam induction rates
between 0.3%, 1%, and 3% during operation, while the lightweight DZ1000 Light
offers settings of 0.1%, 0.5%, or 1%, making it particularly effective for
wetting agent applications where water conservation is critical. For industrial
applications, FireDos also offers carrying-frame versions capable of handling
high-viscosity foam concentrates and adjustable proportioning rates up to 6%.
Built without the need for external power, the FireDos
proportioners combine reliability, portability, and ease of maintenance, making
them a valuable addition to mining emergency response strategies.
Portable Foam Proportioning Built for Mining's Toughest
Firefighting Challenges
Mining operations face a unique combination of fire risks,
from mobile equipment and fuel storage facilities to conveyor systems,
workshops, processing plants, and the ever-present threat of veld and wildfire
spreading onto mine property. Effective fire suppression depends on equipment
that is dependable, portable, and ready to operate wherever an incident occurs.
FireDos has developed the DZ1000 and DZ1000 Light
portable proportioners specifically for demanding firefighting environments
where flexibility and rapid deployment are essential. These proportioners are
now available to the Southern African mining sector through DoseTech Fire,
the region's authorised FireDos dealer.
Designed for mobile use, both units provide precise foam
concentrate proportioning over flow rates ranging from 140 to 1,000 litres per
minute. The DZ1000 Light can also produce wetting agent solutions from flow
rates as low as 80 litres per minute, making it ideal for wildfire suppression
and perimeter protection where efficient water use is a priority.
One of the key advantages of the FireDos system is its
operational simplicity. Foam induction rates can be changed during use without
interrupting firefighting operations. The DZ1000 offers selectable
proportioning rates of 0.3%, 1%, and 3%, while the DZ1000 Light provides 0.1%,
0.5%, or 1% settings, allowing crews to match foam application to changing fire
conditions.
Unlike electronically controlled systems, FireDos
proportioners operate mechanically, requiring no external power supply. This
makes them particularly suited to remote mining sites where reliability and low
maintenance are critical.
For industrial fire brigades and emergency response teams,
FireDos also offers carrying-frame versions that can be mounted on roll-off
containers or mobile carts. These units accommodate proportioning rates from
0.2% to 6%, depending on the model, and are capable of accurately dosing
high-viscosity foam concentrates commonly used in industrial fire protection.
As mines continue to strengthen emergency preparedness and
wildfire resilience, portable foam proportioning technology offers a practical
solution for protecting people, infrastructure, and production assets. With
robust engineering, accurate foam dosing, and straightforward operation, the
FireDos DZ1000 range provides mining operators with a versatile firefighting
tool capable of responding to a wide range of incidents.
Displayed by DoseTech Fire (Hall 6, E3), the FireDos DZ1000
and DZ1000 Light demonstrate how proven German-engineered proportioning
technology can help mining operations improve fire response capability while
maintaining operational efficiency in some of Southern Africa's most demanding
environments.
