RGM Cranes to Showcase Smart Lifting Technology at Electra Mining Africa 2026
When Electra Mining Africa returns to the Johannesburg Expo Centre, Nasrec from 7 to 11 September 2026, RGM Cranes will use its presence to show that the future of lifting is about more than steel, strength and capacity. It is about intelligence, automation, control and connected performance.
Visitors will find RGM Cranes in Hall 5, Stand C22, where the company will showcase a strong mix of lifting technology, electrical automation capability, smart monitoring systems and practical equipment for demanding industrial environments.
With more than 38 years of experience in the design, manufacture, installation and maintenance of overhead cranes and gantries, RGM Cranes has built its reputation on robust, reliable lifting solutions. At Electra Mining Africa 2026, the focus will be on how lifting systems are evolving to support safer, smarter and more efficient operations.
A major highlight will be RGM Cranes’ advanced turnkey electrical control and automation solutions. The company designs, manufactures, installs and commissions custom electrical control panel centres for industrial plants and overhead crane applications. These systems can include PLC, HMI, SCADA and Variable Speed Drive technologies, giving clients improved process visibility, better equipment control and greater operational reliability.
“Industry is moving quickly toward smarter, more connected environments,” says Emel Fleischmann, Managing Director at RGM Cranes. “Our automation and control systems are designed to help clients improve productivity, reduce downtime and create safer working conditions.”
The stand will also feature Nexxus, RGM Cranes’ purpose-built crane and asset management platform. Developed specifically for lifting operations, Nexxus combines real-time dashboards, AI-powered analytics, predictive maintenance alerts, digital compliance tracking and operational event logging. From inspections and repairs to load test registers, service history and crane performance data, Nexxus gives operators a clearer view of their lifting assets.
“Nexxus helps remove the blind spots that can exist across lifting operations,” says Fleischmann. “It gives businesses access to meaningful data, helping them move from reactive servicing to more proactive, informed maintenance decisions.”
Another key attraction will be the Gravity Ant, an advanced electrical manipulator. Compact, quiet and portable, the Gravity Ant offers lifting speeds of up to 75m/min and allows operators to handle loads with exceptional precision. Its float mode gives the load a weightless feel, making positioning easier and reducing operator strain, while built-in safety features such as hand presence sensors, emergency stop functionality and monitoring alerts support safer handling.
For visitors looking for practical lifting equipment, RGM Cranes will also showcase components such as chain blocks, hoists and related lifting solutions, supported by the company’s wider engineering and service expertise.
“At this year’s Electra Mining Africa, we want visitors to experience the full RGM Cranes capability,” adds Fleischmann. “From everyday lifting equipment to advanced automation, telemetry and intelligent crane management, our stand will show how we support industry at every level.”
RGM Cranes’ presence at Electra Mining Africa 2026 promises to be more than a product display. It will offer a clear look at where industrial lifting is heading, and how technology is transforming the way cranes are controlled, monitored, maintained and managed.
