Simutron (Pty) Ltd, Southern Africa's simulation and CAM software reseller,confirmed its transition to Siemens Simcenter following Siemens' acquisition of Altair. The simulation tools South African engineers have relied on for years, including SimSolid, Inspire, HyperMesh and EDEM, remain the same powerful software. Only the brand name has changed.

The move brings Simutron's full simulation portfolio under the Siemens Simcenter umbrella, which now combines the established Simcenter range with the former Altair product set into a single, broader offering spanning mechanical, fluids, electromagnetics, systems and AI-driven simulation.

For South African engineering and manufacturing teams, this means continued access to trusted simulation tools, now backed by Siemens' global development and support resources, with Simutron providing the same local sales, training and technical support customers already know.

Simutron will showcase the rebranded Simcenter portfolio at Electra Mining Africa 2026, taking place at the Johannesburg Expo Centre, Nasrec.
