Trolex brings real-time personal dust monitoring to the market with XD1+
Trolex, the leading manufacturer of health and safety technology products for workers operating in hazardous environments is delighted to announce the launch of a personal, real-time particulate monitor for respirable particulates, the XD1+ Personal Dust Monitor.
1 million global deaths a year are caused by inhalation of particulates in the workplace, which can be attributed to industries such as construction, quarrying, manufacturing and many others. If deployed correctly and effectively, real-time monitoring can be essential for workplaces wishing to deploy effective control measures for dust exposure and want to improve worker engagement in their health and safety.
The key to reducing the risk is understanding and knowing the risk, then being able to make informed decisions. XD1+ is simple to use, highly durable and lightweight meaning workers are unrestricted in their working day, yet better equipped in knowing the risk their exposed to, allowing workplaces to improve and enforce higher standards.
XD1+ displays instant audio and visual alarms when pre-set limits are breached, allowing for decisions to be made regarding use of PPE and RPE, agile process development and smart deployment of ventilation and extraction systems, reducing costs, improving business efficiency, and ultimately saving lives. Advanced processing algorithm, detects, counts and sizes up to 100,000 particulates a minute, to know exactly how much dust your workforce is exposed to, providing accurate real-time information to save lives.
Low-end sensor resolution, measuring down to 0.1 µm allows for all respirable dust to be accounted for, and now with supporting BreatheLITE software and BreatheMOBILE application, all this collected data can be instantly accessed for immediate analysis of dust levels on site. Real-time really does mean real-time with XD1+ and supporting BreatheLITE Software.
Featured on-site in real-world applications with industry leading names such as Hinkley Point, HS2, Worktop Fabricators Federation and AirMatters, XD1+ is already demonstrating the ability to reduce worker exposure to hazardous respirable dust, deployed alongside existing processes and control measures.
Adrian Eccles, Trolex Technical Product Manager said: “XD1+ and the real-time monitoring capabilities it provides are instant, in the moment, meaning you can do something about a problem and implement control measures. It allows you to try a new control measure and have a very quick indication of whether that has been successful or not in reducing the hazard.”
