Why Mounting a Submersible Pump on Turret™ Makes Engineering Sense
A typical large submersible pump weighing approximately 300 kg can be securely mounted within the 450 kg Turret™, which is specifically engineered with sufficient buoyancy to safely support the combined operating load while maintaining stability on the water surface.
Unlike conventional pontoons or improvised floating platforms, Turret™ provides a balanced, purpose-built structure that keeps the pump correctly positioned below the water surface. This allows the pump to draw cleaner water while reducing vortexing, cavitation and sediment intake, improving hydraulic efficiency and extending pump life.
The integrated floating design also simplifies installation and relocation. Operators can deploy the complete pump and intake system without extensive support structures, reducing crane time, labour and installation costs. Because the pump remains afloat with changing water levels, performance remains consistent without frequent repositioning.
For mining, construction, tailings storage facilities and industrial dewatering applications, Turret™ delivers a safer, more reliable and cost-effective pumping solution, combining engineered buoyancy with patented water intake technology to maximise productivity and minimise maintenance.
