Zoei Tech Solutions to Feature NLT Vigilance Strata PAD Collision Avoidance at Electra Mining Africa 2026
Zoei Tech Solutions will present the Vigilance Strata PAD at Electra Mining Africa 2026, demonstrated through its partnership with NLT Digital Solutions at Hall 3, Stand C28.
The Strata PAD is a modular expansion unit that adds proximity detection and collision avoidance to NLT's Vigilance wearable device, meeting EMESRT Level 9 requirements to react independently of the operator and automatically slow or stop machinery. It works in conjunction with the Strata Worldwide HazardAVERT® proximity detection system and connects directly to Vigilance through a quick-connect expansion slot — no need to open the unit, and no offsite modification required.
Unlike systems that require workshop changes, the Strata PAD is end-user interchangeable and can be added, removed, or swapped out by site personnel in seconds to minimise downtime. Site-specific configurations are available to match individual mine requirements.
As a worker moves through a machine's detection field, Vigilance delivers on-screen notifications alongside audible and visual alarms, with colour-coded LED indicators showing status at a glance: blue confirms the PAD is installed and functioning, green indicates a silent zone, orange a warning zone (automatically reducing machine speed), red a hazard zone (bringing the machine to a controlled stop), and purple flags communications interference. Warning zones can be configured as a single zone or two zones depending on site or regulatory requirements.
The system also includes low-battery protection — nearby machinery is alerted and remains stopped until the wearer is safely removed from the area — and a customisable remote stop function that lets a worker halt equipment with a single button press, which can only be deactivated by the user who triggered it. On-screen PAD failure alerts and flashing red headpiece LEDs immediately flag any critical fault, stopping machinery in the area until the unit is inspected. The PAD integrates seamlessly with NLT's Symphony software and features improved RF interference immunity over previous generations.
"Collision avoidance shouldn't mean a separate system to install and maintain," a Zoei Tech Solutions spokesperson said. "The Strata PAD lets sites add that layer of protection to equipment they've already deployed, and swap it out in the field in seconds if needed."
