Casjahn Bierman is the Founder and Program Director of Snakes & Hazards, an innovative behavioural safety and hazard identification programme that helps organisations improves safety culture through practical, engaging risk awareness.
With more than a decade of experience working alongside mining, manufacturing, construction and heavy industry across Africa and internationally, Casjahn has developed a unique approach that transforms the way people recognise, discuss and manage workplace hazards. By using the behaviours and characteristics of snakes as memorable analogies for different hazard types, the programme simplifies complex safety concepts into practical actions that employees can apply every day.
Since its launch in 2014, Snakes & Hazards has been implemented at operations in South Africa, India and several African countries, supporting organisations in improving workforce engagement, proactive hazard reporting and leadership involvement in safety. Casjahn has facilitated programmes for leading companies in mining, cement, manufacturing, energy and industrial sectors, helping thousands of employees develop stronger hazard recognition skills.
