Rainer Bernert
Rainer Bernert is an Austrian entrepreneur, engineer, and specialist in online water analysis with more than two decades of experience in industrial process measurement and environmental monitoring.
As owner and managing director of SEIBOLD Wasser Analysatorenfabrik GmbH, he leads the development of advanced online analysers for heavy metals and critical water quality parameters used in mining, metallurgy, power generation, semiconductor manufacturing, and drinking water applications worldwide.
Throughout his career, Rainer has focused on one central question: How can complex laboratory analyses be transformed into reliable, autonomous online measurements that operate continuously under real industrial conditions?
His work has contributed to the deployment of online monitoring systems for parameters such as arsenic, uranium, copper, nickel, zinc, manganese, iron, chromium, and other metals in challenging process and environmental waters. These systems are used by mining companies, smelters, water utilities, and industrial operators across Europe, Asia, North and South America.
Rainer is particularly known for promoting measurement approaches that combine flow injection analysis, reaction kinetics, and multi-wavelength photometric techniques to improve measurement quality, reduce maintenance requirements, and provide greater confidence in online analytical results.
Beyond product development, he works closely with mine operators, laboratory specialists, environmental professionals, and process engineers to bridge the gap between analytical chemistry and practical field operation. His philosophy is simple: the best analyser is not the one with the most complexity, but the one which delivers trustworthy data every day.
Today, his work focuses on the next generation of online heavy-metal monitoring, integrating advanced photonics, electrochemistry, and intelligent data evaluation to enable better environmental stewardship and more efficient industrial processes.
