Qualifications: Electrotechnology

Wade Olivier is an accomplished Electrical Manager with over 15 years of leadership experience directing complex underground engineering projects across the mining civil and infrastructure sectors. Known for his technical expertise in high-voltage distribution networks, hazardous area installations, and digital technology integration, Wade consistently drives operational safety, efficiency, and full statutory compliance in greenfield Brownfield and high-risk environments.

Throughout his career, Wade has served in pivotal leadership roles for prominent industry leaders, including Redpath Mining (Australia, South Africa and Botswana), CPB Contractors Australia, Lendlease Australia, and Glencore Australia. Most recently as Electrical Superintendent for the Redpath Mining Jwaneng Underground Project and Mogalakwena underground project, he spearheaded new surface and underground electrical reticulation systems, optimized high-capacity pumping stations, and successfully led a multidisciplinary team spanning Electrical, civil, structural, and piping works. A key driver of innovation, Wade has spearheaded advanced digital roadmaps on major sites—deploying cutting-edge solutions such as Proximity and Vehicle Detection Systems (PDS/VDS), LTE/TETRA networks, smart cap lamps, and environmental monitoring infrastructure and New electrical protection relays for mining outlets.

In addition to his field execution capabilities, Wade brings strategic foresight to supply chain management and project governance. He has repeatedly established global procurement pipelines to hedge against inflated local market costs and mitigate critical lead times. His prior portfolio encompasses landmark civil tunnel projects—including Brisbane’s Cross River Rail and Sydney’s Northconnex Tunnel—where he managed high-voltage Roadheader reticulation, high-voltage substation commissioning, and rigorous safety compliance frameworks.

Wade holds formal certifications in Competencies (S1, S2, S3), Explosion-Protected Electrical Equipment in Hazardous Areas (EEHA), High Voltage Switching across Australia. Combined with his hands-on experience in trade-level troubleshooting and technical training delivery, he excels at bridging the gap between EPCM design engineers, corporate stakeholders, and frontline execution team.
