am a Business Development and Applications Engineer at PositioNXT, specialising in the application of Distributed Fibre Optic Sensing (DFOS) technology within the mining industry. I hold a BSc Honours degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of the Witwatersrand, and I combine my engineering background with business development, project management, and data-driven problem solving.
In my role at PositioNXT, I work across the technology-to-market journey, from identifying customer needs and developing commercial opportunities to managing proof-of-concept projects and supporting the deployment of DFOS solutions. My work focuses particularly on conveyor condition monitoring and underground ventilation monitoring, using fibre-optic sensing to generate data that can improve operational reliability, safety, and efficiency.
I have experience managing pilot projects, engaging with mining stakeholders, developing technical and commercial proposals, and working with technology partners to translate emerging technologies into practical industrial applications. I have also gained international project experience through the deployment and commissioning of distributed acoustic sensing systems in mining environments.
I am particularly interested in the intersection of engineering, technology, data, and business. I enjoy solving complex industrial problems and turning technical concepts into practical solutions that create measurable value.
